Can I Purchase the Oxford Punch Needle Separately?

We choose not to sell the needle on its own for a very important reason: we aim to provide you with a comprehensive punch needle experience. Our Moomzart kits have been carefully curated with the finest materials, enabling you to start creating the moment your kit arrives. The needle is just one part of the equation; the quality of the cloth and wool are equally crucial. If you still wish to purchase the needle individually, it’s available at Amy Oxford’s online shop.

Can I Use Various Types of Fibers with the Oxford Needle?

One of the standout features of the Oxford Needle No. 10 is its versatility. You can use it with a wide range of fibers, from strips of fabric (perhaps from garments you no longer wear) to raffia. At Moomzart®, we primarily use 100% natural merino wool to ensure the longevity and durability of your projects, aiming for creations that will be passed down through generations. For everyday use, a robust fiber like rustic merino wool is essential. However, you’re welcome to experiment with different fibers for canvas projects or decorative pieces; the possibilities are incredibly diverse.

Why Don’t We Include Monk Cloth in Our Punch Needle Kits?

While Monk cloth is a commonly marketed fabric for punch needle, we’ve found that it’s not the preferred choice among professionals and dedicated hobbyists. Working with Monk cloth has its challenges: it frays easily, requiring you to tape the edges before use, and it’s not well-suited for sewing, either by hand or machine. We generally recommend Monk cloth only for individuals with physical limitations (such as arthritis) or for children, as its open weave eliminates the need for applying pressure. You can purchase it separately in packs from our online shop. If you’re looking to make punch needle a long-term hobby—which is what we anticipate if you’re considering a Moomzart® kit—then we highly recommend Abbess linen cloth.

Can I Request a Customization for the Kits?

We can modify the kits if you have a physical limitation that prevents you from applying pressure with your fingers or hands. In such cases, we can make an exception and replace the 35×35 pieces of Abbess cloth with Monk cloth. Please contact us to arrange this.

Do you offer Workshops for learning Punch needle?

While we occasionally hold workshops to test new products or make improvements, they serve more as our testing grounds. However, you’re not left to figure it out alone! We offer instructional videos so you can learn at your own pace from the comfort of your home. Plus, we’re always here to provide guidance and advice. Trust us, mastering punch needle is simple when you have the right materials.
