Midinette punch needle kit

Welcome to the Ultimate Punch Lodge, future puncher! This kit contains everything you need to punch and you will be able to make your first two 21 cm diameter punchies. The kit includes:
1 Oxford punchneedleThe Oxford punch needle is the Rolls Royce of punch needles. It is made entirely in the USA with the best materials (electropolished stainless steel and maple wood). It is very difficult to get one in Europe since its production is limited as a luxury item that it is. If you have already punched with other needles, you will notice an enormous difference: it glides like butter on the fabric, accepts all types and thicknesses of fibers, its handle is ergonomic, it is very very comfortable to thread and it is an elegant object. It comes with a lifetime warranty! Believe us, we have tried a lot of needles and this one surpasses any other. The Oxford #10 will allow you to go very fast in your punch projects since it allows you a fiber thickness of 6mm (like our Primitive wool) and some loops also 6mm high.
1 stork embroidery scissorsStork scissors are our weakness. They are the queen of embroidery scissors! You will not be able to separate yourself from them, they will be the pairing of your punch needle, since they will allow you not only to cut the ends of wool, but they are also essential for the finishes of your punchy.
1 steel yarn needleThis yarn needle is made of stainless steel and will allow you to pass the ends through the canvas at the end of your creativity. It will also allow you to make special finishes and embroideries on top of your punched piece.
1 velvet case100% cotton, with a zipper, black, velvety to the touch and gold print. In it you can store your "punch tools", the stitch gauge, a ball and any other sewing gadget. Its size is very comfortable: 23x16 cm.
1 Master of punch frame 24 cmThis beech wood frame is made in Great Britain and measures 24 cm in diameter and 2 cm thick. One of the conditions for punching comfortably is that the cloth is taut to facilitate hitting. For this reason you need a thick hoop like this one.
2 Abbess cloths 35x35Measure: 35x35 cm. This size of fabric is suitable for the Master of punch circular hoop and will allow you to create 2 punchies. Made in Germany, 70% viscose, 30% linen.
1 stitch gaugeAt the beginning you will need it as long as you do not get regularity in your stitches.
1 tote bagThis bag fits everything you need for your punches: frame, case and balls. White and gold color.
2 patterns craftYou can cut out the pattern and reuse it as many times as you want. Designs: heart (we are punch lovers) and crown (queen of punch).
5 balls merino woolEach ball weighs 30gr and has a strand length of about 20m. A ball allows you to cover half the surface of the Master of punch frame. And as you well know, The primitive wool is 100% wool from Spanish Merino sheep.

The handle is ergonomicand made of maple wood; the tip is made of electro-polished steel thanks to a great work of matrix engineering.
Oxford needle is also the most imitated needle on the market. Beware of imitations as they are nothing like the quality of the original.
It is a needle for life, the most comfortable and resistant on the market.
All the people who have tried it only use this one, including our students.
The Oxford needle nº10 will allow you to make loops of 6,35 mm with thick yarn of 4 mm. This way, you will be able to progress very quickly in your punch needle project.

Special wool for Oxford needle nº10

If you want to make rugs, bags, clothes… that is to say, any format of punch needle to enjoy in your day, is important that you use a good wool so that your creativity has a long life and does not deteriorate with use and time. The perfect wool for the Oxford needle is a 100% natural wool from Merino sheep with rustic braided yarns. This wool is the primitive wool of rug hooking, the wool from which the finest handmade carpets were and are made.

It is a rustic wool. We have developed it thanks to the help of a craftsman who makes it especially for us. The Oxford needle nº10 requires a wool with a very specific thickness of 4mm. With this needle, you can punch without the wool constantly escaping (as is often the case with most wools) and so that your loops are perfect.

The best punch needle cloth

Abbess punch needle cloth, is for you, a Punch woman whose creativity knows no bounds. It is a strong, versatile, hard-wearing and open weave fabric that won’t fray! It is perfect if you want to make cushions, toiletry bags, dolls, etc. because it facilitates any work with a needle or a sewing machine. Also, if you are thinking of a punchy with areas leaving the fabric uncovered, the Abbess cloth is the right one for you. It’s a cloth for experienced and demanding punchers.

Why don’t we include Monk cloth in the punch needle kits?

Monk cloth is indeed the most popular cloth, but in practice, it is an uncomfortable cloth to work with. It has 3 major disadvantages. First, it frays so you have to tape the entire perimeter of the piece before working with it. It deforms easily so when undoing stitches the fabric does not recover and it is difficult to punch again with the risk of loops coming loose. Finally, it does not support any sewing option, either by hand or by machine. This fact limiting considerably the formats that you can create.
